On September 28, a memorandum was
signed between Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary and the
Theological Institute of Azerbaijan. The document was signed by the
Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Protopresbyter
of the Orthodox Church of Georgia Giorgi Zviadadze and Deputy
Rector of the Theological Institute of Azerbaijan Jeyhun
Mammadov.
The event was held at the
Patriarchate of Georgia.
Metropolitan Andria of Gori and
Ateni and Chairman of the State Committee of Religious Associations
of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mubariz Gurbanli spoke at the
meeting. The event was attended by His Grace Giorgi, Bishop of
Marneuli and Khujabi, His Grace Vakhtang, Bishop of Nikortsminda,
other members of the clergy, Secretary to the State Agency for
Religious Affairs Zaza Vashaqhmadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig
Guliyev and members of the delegation from Azerbaijan.
The participants of the meeting
spoke about the importance of good neighborly relations between
Georgia and Azerbaijan.
