The Feast Day “Apkhazetoba”
On the 23rd of May, the Orthodox Church of Georgia commemorates Saint Simeon the Canaanite. His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Tskhum-Apkhazeti has blessed the day as the Festive Day of Apkhazeti – “Apkhazetoba”. Accordingly, this day was proclaimed as a day of observance.
In the context of this celebration, today at 13:30, the Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze will offer an Akathist to God in Sioni Cathedral.
