Annual Academic Conference of Professors and Instructors – Second Session

 

The annual academic conference of professors and instructors dedicated to His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, continues at the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary.

On May 22, within the framework of the conference, the sections of Canon Law, Georgian Language and Literature, History, and Art Studies continued their work. The participants presented diverse and relevant academic papers addressing important issues of Georgian ecclesiastical and secular literature, linguistics, Church history and law, Christian art history, as well as the history of Georgia and world history.

The Canon Law section was chaired by Mr. Tornike Mamniashvili, Assistant at the Chair of Church History, Patristics, and Dogmatics. The session featured the following presentations:

1.Doctoral candidate Tornike Mamniashvili – The Structure and Development of Church Governance (from the Apostolic Age to the Pentarchy) 

2. Doctoral candidate, novice Irakli Guniava – Canonical Foundations and Principles of the Church’s Property Rights

The chairman of the section of History was Doctor of Historical Sciences, Prof. Eldar Bubulashvili. The session featured the following presentations:

1.Doctor of History and Theology, Professor, Archpriest Giorgi Gugushvili – The Issue of the Eparchies Restored by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II

2. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Eldar Bubulashvili – Restoration of the Autocephaly of the Church of Georgia and the Georgian Press

3. Doctor of History Nino Tomadze – On the Contributions of Mara Branković

The Language and Literature Section was chaired by Doctor of Philology Tamta Parulava. The following papers were presented:

1.Doctor of Philological Sciences Rusudan Asatiani – The Relationship of Marking and the Idea of God

2. Doctor of Philology Lali Khuchua – The Representation of Ecclesiastical Terms in the Georgian Terminological Database

3. Doctor of Philology Tamta Parulava – On a Particular Issue of Georgian Journalistic Thought

4. Doctor of Philology Khatuna Kalandarishvili – Understanding of the Significance of the Resurrection in the Poetry of Akaki Tsereteli.

The Section of Art Studies was chaired by Rusudan Vashalomidze, Head of the Department of Christian Art History and Theory. The following papers were presented by:

1. Doctor of Art History Nino Chichilidze – The Architecture of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Paris

2. Rusudan Vashalomidze – The Creative Work of Nun Zoile (the Artist Ida Tvaradze): Based on the National Gallery Exhibition

3. Doctor of Geology, Professor Murad Tkemaladze – Causes and Types of Damage to Artistic and Construction Materials

The sessions were attended by professors, instructors and students of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, whose active participation contributed to highly engaging and professionally enriching discussions.
