A Defense of a Doctoral Thesis
On January 30, 2024, the New Testament teacher at Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary Grigol Khachapuridze defended his dissertation thesis on the topic – Historiography of the History of the Apostolic Orthodox Church of Georgia - the End of the 19th Century and the Beginning of the 20th Century. The defense was hosted by the Georgian University of Saint Andrew the First-Called of the Patriarchate of Georgia. The supervisor of the thesis was Doctor of History, Associate Professor Vakhtang Guruli. The official reviewers were Doctor of History, Associate Professor Aleksandre Mosiashvili and Doctor of History, Associate Professor Gvantsa Burduli. The Dissertation Council was chaired by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Academician Roin Metreveli. The members of the Dissertation Council evaluated Mr. Grigol Khachapuridze’s qualification thesis with the highest score and he was awarded an academic degree of Doctor of History.
The defense of the thesis was attended by the Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Doctor of Theology, Philology and Political Sciences, Professor, Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze, the clergymen, professors, teachers and representatives of various scientific circles.
