A University Book Festival

On April 14, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted University Book Festival. The event was dedicated to two important dates in the history of the Georgian book – the publication of the first scientific printed edition (in 1643 Mario Maggio printed in Italy a book, titled “A Grammar of the Georgian Language”,) and the founding of the first Georgian printing press in 1708, under the patronage of King Vakhtang VI.
At the festival, scientific works authored by the academic personnel of the state and private universities, functioning in Tbilisi and prepared at the publishing houses of universities throughout 2018-2023, were presented.
A separate stand was assigned to books prepared by the Publishing House of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary.
The head of the University library - Zurab Gaiparashvili, the Rector Jaba Samushia and the Rector of Saint Andrew the First-Called Georgian University Irakli Brachuli gave speeches at the festival.
Revaz Mujirishvili, a consultant of the Publishing House of the Theological Academy and Seminary, presented the books of our school to the interested visitors.
