Annual Concert of the Academy Choir

On June 12, the Annual Concert of the Academy Choir was held at the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary.

The members of the choir are: Iveri Svanidze, Lasha Bzukashvili, Demetre Jajanidze, Tevdore Gogoladze, Giorgi Zoidze, Lekso Bregvadze, and Tornike Koghua. The choir is directed by Lekso Gremelashvili.

At the concert, Kartli–Kakhetian church hymns were performed, along with hymns from the Gelati and Shemokmedi schools of chant. Among the invited guests at the concert were graduates of the Theological Academy, the monks of the Holy Cross Monastery in the village of Sameba, Tsalka Municipality—Giorgi Askurava and Euthymius Krupitski, as well as Giorgi Abramishvili, Master of Musical Arts in Musicology, and the chanter Beka Dadvani. The guests performed two hymns.

The members of the choir and the invited guests were blessed by the Rector of the Academy and Seminary, Protosyngellos Professor Giorgi Zviadadze, Doctor of Philology, Theology, and Political Science, who also thanked them for their hard work and dedication.

The chanters were addressed and thanked by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Administrative Affairs of the Theological Academy and Seminary, Archpriest Besarion Tsintsadze, and the Head of the Department of Liturgics and Pastoral Theology, Doctor of Theology Archdeacon Demetre (Davitasvhili).

The annual concerts of the Academy Choir are held at the end of each academic year.
