The annual scientific conference of professors and instructors dedicated to His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, concluded its work today at the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary.
On May 25, within the framework of the conference, the sections of Old Georgian Literature, Philosophy, and Psychology continued their work.
The Old Georgian Literature section was chaired by Professor Lela Khachidze, Doctor of Philological Sciences. The following presentations were delivered at the session:
1. Doctor of Philology Ketevan Gvazava – Genre Syncretism in Hagiography
2. Doctor of Philology Ketevan Mamasakhlisi – The Typicon of Vahani’s Caves and Its Marginal Notes
3. Doctor of Philology Asmat Jikia – “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin” Through “The Knight in the Panther’s Skin”
4. Doctor of Philology Khatuna Nishnianidze – The Question of the Biblical Origin of the Georgian Kings and Its Reflection in the 18th Century Georgian Literature
Philosophy and Psychology section was chaired by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Gvantsa Koplatadze. The following presentations were delivered:
1. Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Gvantsa Koplatadze – Authenticity of the Areopagitic Texts
2. Doctor of Philosophy Elene Shubladze – Philosophical Foundations of Psychology
3. Doctor of Social Sciences Irma Khurtsia – Relationship Between Psychological Schools of Thought and the Christian Worldview
4. Doctor of Psychology Lana Sulkhanishvili –Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy and the Existential-Anthropological View of the Human Being
The participants presented a diverse and relevant range of scholarly papers addressing important issues in Georgian ecclesiastical and secular literature, philosophy, and psychology.
The work of the sections was attended by professors and instructors, as well as students of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. Engaging and highly informative professional discussions were held on the topics in question.
