In 2024, he successfully defended his master’s thesis on the topic: Euthymius the Athonite’s Translations of the Works of Gregory the Theologian, and was awarded the degree of Master of Theology in Patrology and Christian Archaeology.

The speaker addressed a number of topics: the beginning of the dispute between Gregory Palamas and Barlaam of Calabria, Barlaam of Calabria’s Trinitarian position, certain aspects of Gregory Palamas’ Trinitarian theology, the significance of the Father’s monarchy (the Father as the sole source), the distinction between the divine essence and the divine energies, the twofold manner of the procession of the Holy Spirit; and the significance of the Holy Spirit’s hypostatic property of procession in the context of the doctrine of the Filioque.

The meeting was attended by students and faculty members of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. The lecture aroused significant interest among the audience, and a discussion was held at the end of the presentation. Mr. Ioseb Archvadze answered numerous questions posed by the students.
