Tsotne Chkheidze, Head of the Doctoral Programme in Theology at the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary and lecturer in the Old Testament, visited Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (UAIC) in the city of Iași, Romania, from May 11 to May 15 of this year. The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus + academic staff mobility programme.
During the visit, Tsotne Chkheidze was hosted by the Faculty of Theology at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași. He delivered a special lecture course for local students.
The themes of the lectures addressed fundamental topics such as the essence of the Bible, the Old Testament prophets and Biblical symbolic actions.
The lectures generated great interest among the audience, and the discussion that followed them were held in a question-and-answer format.
Within the framework of the visit, working meetings were held with Romanian colleagues and the leadership of the Faculty of Theology. The parties discussed prospects for deepening academic cooperation between the two institutions, as well as possibilities for joint theological research and future exchange programmes.
