On November 14 of this year, the Rector of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Protosyngellos of the Orthodox Church of Georgia Giorgi Zviadadze offered a Great Commemoration Service dedicated to the deceased teachers, students and members of the staff of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. The service was held at Sioni Temple, the Patriarchal Church of the Dormition of the All-Holy Mother of God. He was assisted by the clergy working in the Theological Academy and serving in this temple.
The service was attended by the members of the families of the deceased, professors, teachers and students. After its conclusion, Protosyngellos Giorgi Zviadadze emphasized the Patriarch’s immeasurable contribution, noting that by virtue of his profound authority, wisdom, and consistent approach, His Holiness and Beatitude founded the higher Theological school in the most challenging years, and the deceased educators were precisely those who, on his invitation, started scientific and educational activities at our institution.
The Protosyngellos expressed his deep respect for each of those persons, spoke about the boundless merit of the deceased teachers and their contribution to the success of The Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. He also expressed deep respect and love for those students who were acquiring education at the Academy and Seminary, but they are not among us today.
May God grant them abodes among the righteous – said Protosyngellos Giorgi Zviadadze. He Blessed the public gathered in the temple and wished success to all of them.
It is to be noted that the Church service dedicated to the commemoration of the deceased teachers, students and members of the staff of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary is held yearly at the Sioni Patriarchal Temple.
