The program of the Department of
Restoration of Easel and Monumental Icon Painting includes the
subjects that give students basic theoretical knowledge both in
theology and in all relevant fields of this branch of Art. It also
provides students with the study of Technologies and their
application in practice.
Throughout the last four years,
conservation-restoration work has been carried out on some
important monuments of Georgian culture, with an active
participation of the students of the Academy-Seminary on the basis
of the department.
In general, students’
participation in the restoration of the wall painting is one of the
important components of the educational program.
